About Us

David Wright - Founder/Owner

David’s journey into professional dog training started in 2009 when he enrolled in OJ the K9 Coach’s group class with his Cane Corso, Charli. Charli’s aggression toward both people and dogs made training a real challenge, and that’s when David realized he didn’t know as much about dogs as he thought—despite having been around them all his life. This experience sparked a passion for understanding dogs better and helping others do the same.

In 2011, David undertook a rigorous apprenticeship with The K9 Coach. Taking the experiences and the knowledge of the apprenticeship, In 2014, David launched iWorkDogs Dog Training Company, quickly establishing it as a premier training resource in Los Angeles. Since its inception, iWorkDogs has trained hundreds of dogs, all while building a reputation for excellence and effective results.

David has traveled across the country teaching seminars on relationship building through play and engagement. His expertise has also led him to work as a dog trainer for major films and TV shows like Straight Outta Compton and Fear of the Walking Dead. He’s a certified Master Canine Fitness Trainer through FitPawsUSA and a National Level Mondioring Level 2 Decoy, working closely with law enforcement agencies across the Pacific Northwest.

At the heart of David’s work is a passion for education. He is deeply committed to helping dog owners understand their pets, fostering relationships that allow both human and canine to thrive together. Through iWorkDogs, David continues to push the boundaries of dog training, empowering dog owners and transforming lives one dog at a time.

Jazmin Hernandez - Head Trainer

Jazmin’s path to professional dog training began unexpectedly when she was two years deep into nursing school. She took a part-time job as a kennel tech at a Los Angeles boarding and training facility,  where her curiosity about dog psychology and behavior started to grow. Realizing her true passion lay with dogs, Jazmin made the bold decision to leave nursing school and dive headfirst into the world of dog training.

After completing a comprehensive apprenticeship, Jazmin continued to hone her skills as a teacher of dogs and people. Today, as the head trainer at iWorkDogs, Jazmin works with a wide variety of dogs, though she has a soft spot for helping dogs who lack confidence and proper socialization.

Jazmin’s dedication to understanding each dog’s unique needs makes her an invaluable asset to the iWorkDogs team, and her passion for seeing shy or anxious dogs thrive is at the heart of her training philosophy.
