Dog Boot Camp in Los Angeles

Our immersive training programs — sometimes known as dog boot camps — are highly customized to help you achieve your goals.

We focus on obedience and basic commands, helping your pet master the basics of crate training and housebreaking, good manners on a leash, etc. These programs are also highly effective in addressing behavioral issues. Some of the most common issues we help pet owners deal with include separation anxiety, barking, jumping and guarding resources.

If your dog is fearful or aggressive, or if your dog hasn’t been properly socialized, dog boot camp can significantly improve their behavior. Live-in training provides your dog with consistency and clarity, free of the distractions that they face at home. We work closely with dog owners after training, providing them with the skills and techniques they need to continue work with their dog at home. We also offer follow-up sessions to check in and help you with any issues that might have come up since your board-and-train session.

Puppy Boot Camp

Our puppy board-and-train services are designed for pet owners who need help navigating the puppy-training process. From socialization to crate training and house training, our immersive program gets your new friend off to a solid start in life. This helps ensure your new pet will fit seamlessly into your home and lifestyle.

After the live-in training period ends, we work closely with you to teach you the skills and techniques you need to continue the work at home. We support you in any way necessary so that you feel comfortable working with your dog.

Why Choose Boarding & Training

At iWorkDogs, our LA clients choose board and train programs for a variety of reasons.

One of the most common reasons you might choose a puppy or dog boot camp is to get rapid results. Most of us are too busy, with too much going on in our busy lives, to wait months for our pets to develop the training and skills they need to become a valued member of the household. Skip the weekly group classes and let our professional trainers do the work. At the end of the program, we will deliver the results you seek.

If you’re planning to be out of town, a board training scenario is a great alternative to standard dog boarding. You will return from your trip hardly recognizing the amazing strides your dog has made in your absence.

Boarding & Training FAQs

Because no two dogs are alike – and every dog parent has unique training goals for their pet – we prefer to meet you and your pet before answering this question. In some cases, we can achieve your goals in a single week. In other cases, we might require four to six weeks to get the job done right for you. That’s why we offer an evaluation

Again, when it comes to dog training, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. We work with dogs that range in age from puppies to seniors. If your pet is able to be boarded, the chances are great that they will thrive in our southern California board-and-train environment.

The answer to this question depends on your pet and your training goals. If your pet requires socialization with other dogs – and if you have provided us with written permission to do so – we may integrate other dogs during some part of their stay, but only in small, closely supervised circumstances. All dogs who stay with us must meet our health and safety requirements, have up-to-date vaccinations, etc.

In most cases, we discourage pet owners from visiting during the immersive environment of a board training program. We task your dog with maintaining an intense level of focus during the program, maximizing their opportunity to learn. We find that pet parent visits can derail progress. We will invite you in toward the end of the program, to show you our progress and integrate you into the process of maintaining and advancing your dog’s training.
